Hai, This is my 1st blog post in this blog, but this should
be the 3rd, 4th or 7th. As I got the idea of writing a blog today. I though of
starting from today with all nice things happed today and of
course beginning should be unpleasant yesterday the day I
arrived to Bangkok, Thailand.Okay so let me start with the arrival to Bangkok
then.Including the first person and all people who read this will no
wonder correct my first word "Hai" into "hey" or
"hi". LOL
But thought of starting in my own way.17/05/2014 Our flight was from Singapore to Bangkok on 17th May at 10.55am, thought of spending a night at Airport for experience of course, toing_ why not save one night fee of accommodation at the same time hahaaa.... on 16th and 15th I went on a brainstorm, wrong word again, well its a confusion. Holy cow I got mistaken 16th and almost I forgot 17th is coming after 16th, then stay another day at 5FootwayInn at Singapor and miss the flight and lot of nice things should have happened!
Alas, I remembered the day, flight is tomorrow_16th morning packed bags kept in
one day free locker at 5FootwayInn took it at night and went straight to the
airport.
Ah yes, another thing it was only me and mom throughout the whole tour.Well thank god anyhow we reached the airport at around 11.45pm, It
was the last train I mean MRT, if mom knows about it was the last she
should have killed me on that place, she always warn me not to work at the last
moment! But I do think that you know the pleasure of last minute work and risk
:)Okay okay before this get much boring let me start the
story, we got checked in, got our boarding passes and
got into the flight on time. Wait wait wait! missed something, we
didn't put any luggage, if you ask me of course,to keep the budget minimized,
that is and was our target, so everything in hand luggage it was slightly
heavier than 8Kg though we were removing unnecessary thing whole night,
Wooohlaaa....Damn they didn't weight our hand luggage, how come we put away our
lovely bag that served us for many years, some wet clothes and some biscuits
just to reduce weight,Why not mentioned about making airport into our own place
stretching and hanging our wet clothes to dry them up, sleeping, eating,
brushing teeth.... Back to topic,yes the last checkpoint_ this is where the amazing things happen! We were just passing the check up.Two ladies_ they screamed some liquid stop stop! :O All of them and all passengers were in a hurry, I was stunned, and freezed. They asked to open the luggage. Then again they screamed lenses liquid, I was just as before and they said "Mam you should know, we don't allow you to take liquids over 100ml " Yes it was 350ml, Hmmmm...... dual purpose I even can drink it when I'm thirsty (if that was the last drink on earth).For 20 days I might need that amount of course. Tried escaping several times, but they were very cruel and had eagle eyes, tried begging "Please!" "Please!" They asked me to transfer into small bottles fortunately pharmacy lady said the containers are not sterilized to put eye liquid. Like everyday I was excited because "Yes that's adventure", and I believed things will turn up! The empty 100ml 3 bottles were similar to price I bought the liquid.And the 100ml liquid new bottle was thrice as expensive than I brought this huge thing in Sri Lanka, the answer to the other question "why don't you buy a new one?" was "Sir its not the brand I use".
There comes my Mirecle! An officer came near_High ranked obviously, I told the story from the beginning only missed thing was the tears! He put a mark on my boarding pass and he let me go. Moma was very afraid than me, You know no one is optimistic like me, no one believe things will turn good at the last moment. So a lesson for life, never stop beliving. even Jeasus once said "Women, your belief cured you, not me". Yes wrote too much about departure, this is a blog for you but for me its my diary so I don't care wether you mined it :) .And another piece of advice by Pulani "Never stop reading if you read this far.... hahahaaa". Flight was nice and red, of course what else you think we are budget travellers, that's Air Asia. No food no towels, no pillows, actually just the seat, and quick shift near to a window seat when the flight is about to depart,... Yepiiiiii...... got fortunate this time also.... to see the stairway to heaven the pure white clouds, and to see the heaven on earth...What do you think? hehehe yes! Sorry this is my diary at the same time! I arranged this tour at a rush you know, fortunately found everything quickly and cheaply. Yes why not mention about the cheap hotel I found yes name is "Nest Botique hotel" just few Kilometers away from the Bangkok International airport, "Suvarnabhumi Airpot". I spoke to my friend learning in Bagkok few days ago "Manavi Mendis" from Sri Lanka, hahahaha.... she arrived to Sri Lanka on the date I departed Sri Lanka, no luck that time. Anyway adventure get doubled. So now what ? let me tell you my plan.
The less I googled is about Thailand. Hey! I'm sorry.... and that's for myself.
My plan was to ask from the Tourist Information Centre there! Oh Ooowww It
should be within inverted comas "", I came out Immigration, white
card everything complete :) Oh there is the tourist Information Centre. Airport
seems to be little, I don't know, little worst than Sri Lanka, I walked
further, Did I said a little?? this is much worst than Katunayake, Sri Lanka.
Agin to topic_ I walked to Tourist Information Centre. I asked for the address,
from which the voucher, I paid and downloaded from Agoda hotels. Hahahaaa S***
happens! "Madam, this is another airport your Hotel is far far away from
here", Well after only one or two hours I noticed this is a domestic
airport :( not the International one! Okay though I didn't notice it at that
time I was eager to go out and use public transport.
Well here we come Hotel!
Before we go, let me tell you..... plane was so small and flight was unpleasant
by word meaning itself. I was also about to vomit and my mother she had
gastritis and of course she was so sick, even difficult to walk.
One had to take cash out I had 900 Bath in my hand, and Two had to buy a Sim
card, thinking not to do the same mistake again,of course to avoid damn high
roaming charges.
Mission Cash out! ATM machines were everywhere, but confusing they showed 2or 3
languages at same time, I was hoping to take 14,000Bath, damn none of them had
the money?$^&$$% Holy Goat this time! some charged 180 Bath and some
150Bath for transaction, that's why I wanted to get the full cost of the
Bangkok tour at same time! Errrrr stupid me it was not the ATM machines who
didn't had Money, it was the bank account! only realized later :) ROFL
this time! so took 10,000! by putting another card, mission accomplished //with
cut 150 bath with no use//
Tour guys, yep talking about government information centre I mentioned earlier,
later I found out they are not from the government, they are just another tour
companies, Yep that's why they suggested some hotels, at the same time they
advised me.
Anyhow if that's a taxi it would cost 500 Bath to my hotel, or public
transport Bus, Sky train and again Airport train and then a taxi will be the
cheaper way. Okay there we go! I mean went LOL
We took Public transport first a bus to Mo Chit from the airport from
gate 6, Woooooh females dominate, both conductor and driver were females, they
were bit fat and grown up but very pretty faces! Just like in Sri Lanka but the
Lady conductor came near to take tickets their english was poor but they
greet with a smile and answered in the best way possible, Sky train was
something new for me I had confused it with MRT anyhow, it took a little time
to realize that I had to use Sky Train not the MRT. I had a map on my hand, Luckeyly talked to another sweet Thai girl in my behind seat. System was somewhat to Singapore and Malaysia, but it was not well organized with proper signs and boards, I got down from Mo Chit and that girl guided me to the Sky Train, Glad I met her otherwise it should have taken years for me to figure out. Okay here is this, you can only inset coins not the notes so have to give to cashier and say the town we need to go to, so she will give coins to input, ahhhh then to the machine_ insert and then select "Phaya Thai 2" that girl did it for me! Thank you whoever she is!
Then had a small talk with her and she disappeared with her friend as she was
fed up of being nice to this alien girl. Sky Train here I come.... and found
her again, sorry to trouble you but little helpless at the moment. Oh luckily
train announced stops as in last two countries. It was easy got down from light green line at "Paya Thai" and on mission again searching for sim cards this time again well, they were 400 Bath at the Airport, and tourist information said it will be less than 100 anyway and advised to buy from a 7-eleven. Station security guided me to there and woooh there was a phone shop there, i asked from it and they gave me a tourist sim card for 299Bath with 1GB internet, thats the 1st stupid thing I ever did in Bangkok. Saying no to it. Still conversions were not familiar for me.... okay has to multiply from *4 to get Sri Lankan rupees currency value. Okay then I bought a Normal "TRUE-H" sim card which was 49 and credited it with 20 Bath. Chep this one of course but latter package could have been valued 1000Bath at times. Agin shift to old mission Moma was standing at station till I come from mission sim cards with a great difficulty there was a Mac Donalds near, Oh an Ice cream was just 6Bath same to Sri Lanka, moma said cant eat or drink anything so Ice Cream will serve much better oh our luck..... Sorry No ice cream Huhh. She suggested let's go to apartment as soon as possible so Then we went to Airport Rail Link and got in. It was almost same to Sky Train and somehow after about 20 minuets we got down from Lat Krabang. Oh from here...... errrrrr though it will be in walking distance! But same to what I herd at the airport. go down and take a taxi. Thought taxi would be better as moma is not even ready for an experimental walk or even to stand. So we took a taxi it was a 40Rs ride if that's Sri Lankan but here they got advantage of us being tourists and took 100Bath okay then hotel guys said it will be 60-70 Bath. Hotel people greeted us very well and welcome us!
Room was Luxary for us! just 57 Ringgit which means around 2500Rs.
Deulux bed, clean room ,bathroom, fridge and everything Yepppiiii.......... :) Took a wash and called dad! Moma was okay after the wash and the medicine dadas voice!
Okay we talked close to an hour after 2days and we were happy! Moma suggested having dinner from here_ downstairs restaurant... okay not me LOL..... Its expensive oh yes :) 150 Bath for noodles and rice cup 20 bath. with sauces and everything they gave we thought of having rice only if we had nothing to eat other days :) cost cutting hahhaaa......
After surfing in social networks for a while we went to sleep....
Yep that was end of our first day!
Piece of advice at the end "If you Google,google well_ or don't at
all". second part of that sentence should have worked for me in this tour!
